Journey and I had some fun debating some of the common disagreements between parents and teens. Each of us introduced a topic and took turns sharing our perspectives. Rather than taking sides, our goal was to explore where our opinions differed.

In this episode we discuss…

  • Why parents and teens often clash over curfew
  • Why teens and parents frequently disagree on social media
  • Why teens and parents often have differing viewpoints about attending sleepovers
  • Why teens and parents tend to disagree on riding in cars with new teen drivers
  • Why teens and parents often disagree over the right amount of screen time

So what’s the common thread between all of the common conflicts between parents and teens? Parents worry about safety, risk, and overall well-being while teens want more autonomy over their choices as they explore their freedom. What’s the answer? Compromise, trust, mutual respect and our favorite word—communication!

Be inspired,

My name is Simone, and I'm addicted to sharing! On this blog, I share recipes, shopping tips, relationship and parenting advice, a joke, an opinion and just about everything in between. In between sharing, I run an integrated marketing agency where my love of details and straight lines are put to good use. But my most important job is being a wife and mother to a teenaged daughter who still seems to like me—for now anyway.
