Summer Strawberry Salad
This bright and beautiful summer strawberry salad screams summer and takes just minutes to make. If you’ve never had the combination of strawberry and basil, you’ve been missing out! You can serve this as a side dish or add chicken to make it the main course. The fresh lettuce and ripe strawberries combined with the sweet, crunchy pecans, crispy onions, hint of basil, and tangy dressing all come together to make the perfect salad!
The ingredients in this summer strawberry salad are totally flexible. You can customize it with your favs by swapping out the lettuce for spinach and adding items like bacon, sunflower seeds, quinoa, almonds, and avocado. And if you want to serve more people, just double the recipe.
I usually toss this salad with Marzetti’s Strawberry Poppyseed Vinaigrette but for some reason, I couldn’t find it anywhere. So this time I tossed it with their Balsamic Vinaigrette and it’s just as good. You can find it in the refrigerated section near the produce. But make sure you don’t add the dressing until you are ready to serve so the salad doesn’t get soggy.
